BRIGHTON, UK (CelebrityAccess) — While radio conglomerates in the U.S. are struggling to stay afloat, Ashley Tabor’s Global just announced their continued expansion with the acquisition of a new FM station in the U.K.
One of the Uk’s leading contemporary music stations, Juice 107.2 in Brighton will join the Global radio network when the deal closes in February.
The station, which launched in 1997 as Surf 107, covers the Brighton and Hove regions, as well as Sussex via the DAB digital radio multiplex.
Ashley Tabor OBE, Founder & Executive President of Global, said: “This is an exciting station to acquire for Global and we look forward to fulfilling the station’s successful future.”
Other recent acquisitions for Global include Juice FM in Liverpool and t The Bay and Lakeland Radio which Global re-branded to Heart and Smooth respectively.
Formed in 2007, Global has grown to become one of the leading FM conglomerates in the UK and includes Chrysalis Radio, GCap Media, and GMG Radio. As well, the company has made some substantial buys in the festival market in recent years, including Hideout, Snowbombing, Snowbombing Canada, South West Four, Field Day, Electric Elephant, Lost Village, Boardmasters, Y Not, Truck, Standon Calling, Rewind, Kendal Calling, and Victorious festivals.
The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
