SOUTH KOREA (CelebrityAccess) The recent decision to allow Olympic figure skaters to use music with lyrics has apparently paid off, with music selections at the Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea, upping iTunes sales.

Vanessa James and Morgan Cipres, representing France, performed to “Sound of Silence” by Disturbed Feb. 14. That, in turn, raised the Simon & Garfunkel cover from below the Top 200 on iTUnes to No. 2, as noted by HITS.

Celine Dion’s song “Ne Me Quitte Pas” was also used in performance and became a Top 5 responder at Shazam.

Meanwhile, two different USA performers used Coldplay songs and one track, “O,” reached the iTunes Top 20, HITS said.
