NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) Sarafee Samuels, rapper, reality TV personality and former boyfriend of Nicki Minaj, was robbed at gunpoint of $183,000 in Fort Lee, N.J., Monday.
Samuels was robbed of cash and jewelry, according to the rapper and police. Three suspects were chased by police into New York City and two have been arrested, according to the New Jersey Star-Ledger.
“I just got robbed at gunpoint. A couple hours ago,” the rapper told Power 101.5 radio host Angie Martinez. “Two dudes with guns just ran up on me. Had me face down to the floor with a gun to my head. They just took everything.”
He tweeted that Monday morning “was probably one of the worst, scariest nights of my life.”
Fort Lee police said they were called at about 2 a.m by Samuels and Corey Bryant who said they were forced to the ground and were robbed before the suspects fled on foot. Police saw a black Cadillac Escalade without license plates a few blocks from the scene and tried to stop it, they said.
“The driver refused to stop and entered the upper level of the George Washington Bridge, eluding the pursuing officers,” police Capt. Matthew Hintze said in a statement.
The SUV lost control exiting the George Washington Bridge and the suspects fled on foot. Shawn Harewood and Jonathan Rickets were charged with first-degree robbery. Police continue to look for the third suspect.
Samuels was a cast member of VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood,” and dated Minaj up until 2014. He is a former member of the group Hoodstars before pursuing a solo career.
