ENGLAND (CelebrityAccess) Timmy Matley, 36, for UK vocal harmony The Overtones, died after a battle with cancer last week.
Matley had announced he had been having a long battle with skin cancer; the exact date of his death has not been announced. The band recently tweeted that it will be postponing its two performances this month.
“The boys will be in touch with you all soon and have asked us to thank you all for your condolences and understanding,” the Overtones added.
Matley was diagnosed with stage three malignant melanoma in 2016 and recently opened up about his story on his JustGiving.com page about his journey. He was planning on skydiving May 3 to raise money for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
“In Summer 2016, I found a lump in my underarm, and on the 2nd of September that same year, I was diagnosed with stage three malignant melanoma – a form of skin cancer,” he wrote. “It was a very frightening and scary time for me and my family. I had felt fine and had no symptoms (aside from the lump) so couldn’t quite believe the diagnosis.”
The band was expected to play Potters, England, April 22 and Bedworth April 28.
