MONTREAL (CelebrityAccess) Stay22, the hotel/Airbnb accommodation app based out of Montreal, is grabbing attention, forming partnerships with Canada’s largest event producer and promoter, Evenko, and Pearl Jam.
The product embeds code into a registration site, and offers visitors hotels and Airbnb accommodations in the area of the event. Stay22 splits the commissions with the organizer. The company works with everyone from high school events to convention centers.
Basically, say, if a festival promoter is building a website for its event, a Stay22 widget can be added that will allow fans to see what accommodations are available in the surrounding area – and the promoter gets a cut from the bookings. An example for Coachella is provided below.
Although it was formed in 2016, Stay22 has gained an exponential amount of traction recently, and CelebrityAccess reported on the recent attention in a February article.
Since then Stay22 has raised $750,000 in seed money, and provided more than $600,000 in accommodation bookings in the first quarter of 2018, and the widget was used for more than 600 events in 20 countries, according to the company. It has more than 6.5 million listings globally from suppliers including Airbnb, Hotelscombined and Hotelplanner.
“We’re super excited to take a major role in transforming the event travel industry and how booking accommodation for events should be done,” CEO Andrew Lockhead told CelebrityAccess. “Enabling event travelers to have a great experience in booking accommodation is the first step to attract attendees to events.”
All that being said, Lockhead was impressed with Pearl Jam’s partnership for its upcoming tour.
“We’re thrilled to have the legendary rock band, Pearl Jam onboard with Stay22 to demonstrate our cause in helping their loyal fans find the best deals for their stay in the Home & Away US shows,” he said.
Lockhead hinted at another big partnership on the horizon but could not comment further.
