BLACKSBURG, Va., (CelebrityAccess) English Field at Union Park, the aging home to Virginia Tech baseball, got some recent upgrades.

The stadium had about 1,033 chair-backed seats before this year’s upgrades and now has more than 4,000. The former press box was razed as were the original seats, providing the expanded seating that moves people closer to home plate, according to Pan Stadia magazine.

The stadium now hosts a three-tier hospitality deck, four private suites and a picnic area close to the field, according to the magazine. Virginia Tech recently debuted the new digs by hosting the Louisville Cardinals.

“English Field at Union Park is designed to be one of the premier college ballparks in the country long into the future,” said Matthew Dates of architect CannonDesign. “It will enrich game day experiences for athletes, coaches and fans while also helping the university recruit top-tier talent and build on its legacy of success.”
