DURHAM, NC (CelebrityAccess) — The Durham Performing Arts Center announced on Monday that they had retained veteran concert promoter Brad Sakes to serve as the venues’ Director of Programming for Concerts, Comedy and Special Events.

Saks, who will start his new job May 21,, will handle all concert, comedy and special events booking at the performing arts center. Saks is a veteran of the live entertainment sector, with a resume that includes eight years with AEG Live, where he was responsible for promoting more than 100 events per year in clubs, theaters, arenas and outdoor venues in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska and Illinois.

Most recently, he has been the talent buyer for Knitting Factory Presents and their 3,000 capacity concert venue in Minneapolis.

Saks began his career as a talent rep, first at William Morris and then at Monterrey Peninsula Artists, before he transitioned into concert promotion, where his first gig was booking shows in the northeast for Metropolitan Concerts. He later did a turn with Ocasa before joining the team at AEG Live.
