HOUSTON, TX (CelebrityAccess) — Multi-platinum, award-winning country, and pop singer LeAnn Rimes is slated to perform at Houston’s Arena Theatre May 24 as a part of her current North American run.
Rimes rose to stardom after the release of her debut single, a rendition of the Billy Mack hit ”Blue,” which won her a Grammy Award for “Best New Artist” — an impressive feat for a thirteen-year-old kid.
However, at the time, LeAnn was already a seasoned performer. At five, she was taking voice and dance lessons and performing in local talent shows and soon expanded into music theatre, almost landing the title role in “Annie” on Broadway.
She appeared and was a one week champion on the national television talent competition, “Star Search,” and was making records with her father on an independent label. W
When Mack discovered LeAnn, he felt the “Blue” was the perfect hit to launch her to mainstream stardom.
Rimes is currently on the road in support of her most recent album, 2016’s “Remnants” which featured the singles “How to Kiss a Boy,” “Long Live Love,” and a cover of the Brandi Carlile hit “The Story.”
Tickets are available at the usual locations, as well as via the theater’s box office.
