(CelebrityAccess) – Facebook launched a brand new feature this week called Lip Sync Live.
Similar to other apps like Dubsmash and Musical.ly, which currently dominate the virtual karaoke market, Facebook’s Lip Sync Live encourages users and their friends to sing along to hundreds of today’s most popular songs. Users can also add effects to their lip-sync videos in a similar fashion to Snapchat’s facial recognition feature.
But, if singing isn’t your thing don’t sweat it, the app also allows non-participants to watch on and add comments.
The launch follows Facebook’s recent foray into the digital music space after the social network spent millions of dollars on music licensing deals with Warner Music, Sony, and Universal Music Group earlier this year.
According to a statement released by Facebook, the social network is also currently testing options for adding music to Facebook Stories, something they hope to roll out in the coming months.
