NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — A federal judge on Monday ruled that Fyre Festival Founder Billy McFarland will have to remain in jail for another month while awaiting sentencing on charges of duping investors of the failed music festival.

McFarland, who was hit with new wire fraud and money laundering charges last week after federal prosecutors alleged that McFarland engaged in the sale of fake tickets to concerts, sports, and other events while he was being prosecuted in the wake of the Fyre Festival.

McFarland was placed on a 10-day detention and had his sentencing hearing for his initial charges, which had been scheduled for this week, pushed back to July 26th.

“I do think that with the new charges combined with the forthcoming sentencing, there’s a serious risk of flight as well as a danger in a non-violent sense to the community,” Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald ruled on Monday.

Fortunately for Mr. McFarland, the judge ruled that the time he serves in the delayed sentencing will count as time served if he faces a prison sentence.
