THOMPSON, Conn. (CelebrityAccess) Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park in Thompson, Conn., has awarded a venue management and food services contract to Spectra and named Terry Eames general manager.
Eames joins the facility with 20 years experience in motorsports management, including as GM of Waterford Speedbowl in Waterford, Conn.
“The Thompson Speedway is an icon in the motorsports industry,” Eames said in a statement. “I look forward to joining Spectra to find new ways to streamline operations, enhance the guest experience, and continue to grow the speedway’s reputation as the premier facility in the local community.”
Eames will handle race bookings, sales and marketing for the NASCAR-sanctioned facility. His official start date was Sept. 4.
Spectra has provided food & hospitality consulting services to the facility for the past four months, Spectra now has a multi-year contract that now includes venue management and food and beverage operations, in addition to the existing contract for corporate partnership sales.
“We’ll be elevating the guest experience for racegoers by delivering an interesting and consistent food and beverage program,” Chris Lawrence, District General Manager, Spectra, said. “Next year, the speedway and Raceway Restaurant will see local, well-loved brands available for visitors to enjoy while watching their favorite motorsport activities.”
