LIVERPOOL, England (CelebrityAccess) England’s Liverpool Football Club has been granted temporary planning permission to host six events a year for the next two years at its 54,074-seat stadium in Anfield, Liverpool.
Previous requests were denied by the Liverpool City Council because of the usual concerns of traffic congestion and road pollution, according to IQ magazine. The recent green light was in hopes of attracting more visitors to the city.
“Expanding the use of the stadium for concerts and other events will help draw additional visitors to the local area and city, provide more local jobs, increase revenue for local businesses and promote Anfield as a tourist destination,” LFC chief operating officer Andy Hughes reportedly said.
“We will now work proactively with event promoters and Liverpool City Council to plan events while ensuring we’re all working together to minimise the impact to those who live in the local area.”
