NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — Just days after her headlining performance at the Global Citizen Festival, rapper and social media icon Cardi B is facing criminal charges over an alleged fight at a New York strip club in August.
According to USA Today, Officer Andrew Lava, a spokesman for the New York Police Department, confirmed that the rapper had been arrested and released after agreeing to appear to face charges in court.
Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, was charged with reckless endangerment and assault, both misdemeanors, after alleging getting in a fight at Angels Strip Club on August 29th.
During the fight, Cardi B and some members of her entourage were alleged to have thrown furniture, causing injuries to employees’ feet and legs, USA Today reported.
No one else has yet been arrested or charged in connection with the melee, Lava said.
According to the newspaper, an attorney for the rapper acknowledged the court summons but said he was not aware of any evidence that is client had caused anyone injury.
