ATLANTA (CelebrityAccess) — Red Bull Music, known for staging a range of eclectic events around the world, is turning its attention to Atlanta’s underground Ballroom scene with the Red Bull Music Presents: ATL is Burning Ball.
Billed as one of the largest events of its kind in Atlanta, the event will see established houses as well as up-and-comers walking, or competing, in over 10 categories.
The lineup for the ball includes headliners Leiomy Maldonado, Dashaun Wesley, and Koppi Mizrahi, as well as performances by Leikeli47, MikeQ, Cakes da Killa, Byrell the Great, and Leonce.
Red Bull is producing the event in partnership with Brought to life with Atlanta ballroom collectives Morph and Southern Fried Queer Pride.
While still largely underground, Ballroom culture has been an important component of life for urban black and Latino members of the LGBT communities. Ballroom events serve as gatherings for members of the community and offer music, as well as competitions that include drag, voguing, appearance, and attitude.
Red Bull Music Presents: ATL is Burning Ball will take place Friday, November 9 at Georgia Freight Depot.
