MINNEAPOLIS (CelebrityAccess) Aaron “Hix” Lee, a Minneapolis musician with local band Red Daughters, was robbed and shot before a performance at the city’s 331 Club on Friday, and detectives are searching for a suspect.

Lee and his girlfriend were approached by the suspect about 10:30 p.m., just before the band was expected to play. The suspect approached from behind and asked for the couple’s phones and wallets, his girlfriend, Katie Szczepaniak, told the Star Tribune.

Szczepaniak was able to hide her phone and call 911. After the couple complied, the suspect shot Lee. The bullet entered just below his belly button, nicking his colon and severing his iliac vein, before lodging in his leg, where it will remain for the rest of his life. He is expected to survive but has had to endure several surgeries.

The paper said Lee is well known on the city’s local music scene. A GoFundMe page has been established.
