LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Beyoncé And Jay-Z last week wrapped the final leg of their OTR II Tour with a performance at Century Link Field in Seattle.
The tour saw the First Couple of hip-hop perform 48 shows across 15 Cities in the UK & Europe and 24 cities in North America in front of more than 2.1 million fans.
The tour, which was in support of their surprise collaborative album “Everything is Love” which they released this summer, featured songs from both artists’ albums throughout the decades including “’03 Bonnie and Clyde,” “Drunk in Love,” “99 Problems,” “Ring the Alarm,” “4:44,” and “APESH*T.”
The tour was presented by Live Nation Global Touring in association with Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment and Jay-z’s Roc Nation.
In addition to making a boatload of money, the Carters also used the tour to advance their philanthropic and civic goals. Through a partnership with voter registration advocates Headcount, voter registration stations were set up to help fans register to exercise their franchise at each U.S. tour date.
As well, the BeyGOOD Initiative and The Shawn Carter Foundation revealed the OTRII Scholarship program, awarding over one million dollars in $100,000 scholarships this back-to-school season to one qualified student in each U.S.
The couples’ last tour was in the summer of 2014 when Beyoncé and Jay-Z performed six weeks of sold-out stadium dates across North America as part of their On The Run tour. The outing closed with two international dates in Paris, France that were filmed for an HBO special that received an Emmy nomination.
