BERLIN (CelebrityAccess) — American indie rocker Jack White performed in front of a sold-out crowd at the debut of the Verti Music Hall, Berlin’s newest concert venue at the Mercedes Platz.
The 4,359-capacity venue will host concerts, shows, and corporate events, and is part of the Mercedes Platz complex, which also features restaurants, bars, cafes, and bowling lanes, with a cinema and a pair of hotels slated to open later this fall.
AEG, which operates the hall, the Verti’s technology, customer experience, and production capabilities, including rigging capable of supporting more than 200 tons of equipment.
“We have spent a lot of time and resource during the planning and construction phase to ensure perfect sightlines and optimal sound, as well as the greatest possible flexibility for capacity, seating and different types of events”, says Michael Hapka, Vice President and Managing Director AEG Operations GmbH.
The addition of the Verti expands AEG’s already substantial footprint in the market, which includes the neighboring Mercedes-Benz Arena.
“The interior of the Music Hall is intimate and high-end in appearance, while the outer concourses have a more urban, industrial style. Verti Music Hall will enrich the Berlin venue landscape, for concert goers as well as for promoters and performing artists,” Hapka added.
AEG said it expects to host more than 100 events per year in the Verti Music Hall.
