(CelebrityAccess) – MelodyVR has appointed Iain Funnell as SVP Creative, Content and Editorial.
In this new role, Funnell will be tasked with spearheading the company’s creative output and original content strategy, making it easier for labels and artists to “engage with VR as part of their campaigns.”
He will report to Chief Executive Officer and Founder Anthony Matchett and will work closely with Melody’s in-house production and post-production teams.
Commenting on the new hire, Matchett said: “Iain is relentlessly creative and has a proven track record in producing major projects that have really delivered for artists, labels and fans alike.
“I look forward to working with Iain as we create new formats and content, whilst working towards our goal of delivering the most incredible VR experiences possible.
“In this rapidly evolving industry, where technology advances at lightning speed and our only creative limitations are imagination itself, Iain’s proven track record and experience will no doubt lead to great developments for both MelodyVR and for VR content in general.”
Funnell’s previous credits include creating and launching Globe Productions, Universal Music’s creative arm, Launched At Red Bull Studios, The Passions of Girls Aloud, a commercial campaign for the World Wildlife Fund and an award-winning VR campaign for Years & Years & Samsung.
Funnell added: “As VR crosses over into the mainstream we start to see the power and creative potential for the technology.
“I’m excited to collaborate with artists and labels to deliver innovative and immersive experiences on a global scale.
“I’m really looking forward to joining Anthony, Steven, Nikki and the rest of the MelodyVR team in reaching new heights for VR.”
