HAMBURG, Germany (CelebrityAccess) — German-based concert and festival promoter FKP Scorpio has acquired a 25% stake in the Danish concert company Smash! Bang! Pow!
The partial acquisition, which FKP Scorpio characterized as an exclusive partnership, comes less than a year after the Germany promoter sold off its existing Danish festivals – the Northside and Tinderbox festivals – to the owners of Danish promoter Beatbox Entertainment.
Founded in 2009, Smash! Bang! Pow! brings foreign artists to the Danish market and represents Danish artists as a booking and management company. Recently announced projects include the Journey Festival, which takes place in February, and upcoming shows by Charlotte Gainsbourg and British Grime rapper Skepta.
According to IQ Magazine, the deal will see several new staffers join s!b!p! Copenhagen office, including booking agent Viktoria Skovhus as well as junior promoter Emma Hestbæk.
“As an independent concert promoter, we’ve reached a glass ceiling for our growth,” said Smash! Bang! Pow!’s Nikolaj Thorenfeldt. “We want to climb higher up the food chain, and this requires more resources and a strong international network. That’s what we get in the partnership with FKP Scorpio.”
