LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) Nicolas Roeg, 90, director of the David Bowie vehicle “The Man Who Fell to Earth,” died today, Nov. 24.

Roeg was a well-respected director of films like “Performance”  and “Walkabout,” and producer of films like “Without You I’m Nothing.”

However, his flirtation with pop culture probably arrived with the 1976 film starring Bowie during his Ziggy Stardust persona.

“Just heard another great storyteller, the inimitable Nicolas Roeg left us today,” said Bowie’s son Duncan Jones. “What an incredible body of work he’s left us with!
All my love to his family. Thank you for making so many brave choices, & giving this strange little lad in pajamas an ongoing love of filmmaking.”
