UNITED KINGDOM (CelebrityAccess) The majority of a U.K. research group of 1,000 says it finds video/camera phone use at concerts to be annoying.

ComRes, commissioned by Eventbrite, found that of 1,031 UK adults polled who have attended live events over the last year, 70 percent said they found it irritating when others take photos or videos during concerts, and nearly the exact same amount support action that would reduce the activity. About 65 percent said such usage would reduce their enjoyment of the events.

Meanwhile, about 33 percent enjoy taking the photos/videos and find it an essential part of the live experience.

According to the report:

  • Nearly half (49%) of respondents say they took photos and videos at the events they attended – and this figure rises to a clear majority among those aged 18–24 and 35–44 (62% each)
  • Women are more likely than men to take photos and videos (56% vs 41%)
  • A large majority of respondents understood why an artist might not like videoing and photographing at the event (81%)

Not surprisingly, more photos/videos are being taken by ages 18-24, according to the Guardian.
