ROMANIA (CelebrityAccess) Anca Pop, 34, a performer known both in Romania and Canada, died after her car plunged into the Danube River in southwest Romania.
Pop’s body was found Monday after divers spotted her car; police are still investigating her death, according to the Daily News.
The singer released her debut album in 2012 and garnered a fanbase in Japan. Two years later her song “Free Love” had a popular video, according to record company Roton Music Romania, and has 1.5 million views.
Pop herself spent her earlier years in Ontario before following her parents back to Romania, only to return to Vancouver to live with her grandparents.
“Most people in my situation would probably say that they knew they wanted to do music since they were little, but to be honest, I don’t recall ever telling my parents that I wanted to be a musician when I grew up,” she wrote on Facebook. “The idea of being a musician came much later, when I was 18.”
