LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — On Tuesday, Warner Bros. Records announced that Nate Albert has joined the label as Executive Vice President of A&R, based out of the company’s Los Angeles office.

Albert, who co-founded the platinum-selling band The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, has held senior A&R posts at Capitol Records and Republic Records, where he signed artists such as The Weeknd, and singer-songwriter Maggie Rogers.

“I’ve long admired Warner Bros.’ deep-seated support of artistic creativity and originality,” said Albert. “There is extraordinary talent all across the globe looking for the right team to help them magnify their visions and build long-term careers. I’m looking forward to bringing them into the WBR family and making great records that will move culture. I want to thank Aaron and Tom for this amazing new opportunity.”

Albert began his music career at the age of 13, when he co-founded the noted ska-punk band, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and performed with the group as the scored hits with their platinum album Let’s Face It, featuring the global hit single, “The Impression That I Get.”

Albert amicably parted with the band in 2000 to attend Brown University, graduating with Honors in Political Theory.

In 2006, Albert joined Republic/Universal as an A&R consultant, and spent more than a decade at the label, eventually serving as Senior Vice President. While at Republic, he signed artists such as The Weeknd, Phantogram, Anberlin and oversaw the release of the soundtrack to the motion picture adaptation of Les Miserables

Albert joined Capitol Records in 2016 as EVP of A&R, signing Maggie Rogers and working on projects by Cold War Kids, Troye Sivan and Calum Scott.
