LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile announced plans to perform a tribute to Joni Mitchell with a special, one-night concert featuring material drawn from Mitchell’s iconic 1971 album Blue.

The concert, set for October 14th at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, will see Carlile perform the album in its entirety and mark Carlile’s debut at the noted Los Angeles venue.

Blue might very well be the best album ever made. I feel the need to play this masterpiece in its entirety so that I can honor Joni Mitchell and the way this album brought me into myself, but also so that I can hear it live too! My soul will be listening alongside yours,” Carlile said, announcing the performance.

“If Joni is right and ‘songs are like tattoos,’ then these songs are an indelible part of our collective story and coming of age. ‘Part of you pours out of me in these lines from time to time.’ Let’s do Blue. Hearts on sleeves and voices raised,” she added.

Carlile is no stranger to Joni’s work and last year, she was one of the artists featured during a special tribute concert to mark Mitchell’s 75th birthyday. Carlile joined a host of artists including Glen Hansard; Emmylou Harris; Norah Jones; Chaka Khan; Diana Krall; Kris Kristofferson; Los Lobos with La Marisoul, Cesar Castro & Xochi Flores; Graham Nash; Seal; James Taylor; Rufus Wainwright and more who performed music from across Mitchell’s catalog of 19 albums over the course of two nights at The Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles.
