LONDON (CelebrityAccess) – It looks like Brian Johnson will tour again with AC/DC, according to NME.
The news comes after the frontman was forced to quit the band back in 2016 after suffering hearing loss––he was replaced by Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose who stepped in to close out the remainder of the band’s tour.
Now, radio DJ Eddie Trunk has admitted to the British music trade that sources close to the band have told him that AC/DC are “absolutely going to tour with Brian back again.” Though Trunk stated that the news was still “unconfirmed from their camp,” he assured NME that it had come from “reliable sources.”
He went on to say: “I think it’s pretty much a done deal that AC/DC, at the very least, are going to release some sort of record and it’ll be some sort of tribute to Malcolm [Young] just like ‘Back in Black’ was a tribute to Bon [Scott]. So I have no doubt about that and I’m pretty confident they’re probably going to do shows as well but I think at this point it’s pretty much just when they announce it.”
Last year, it was reported that AC/DC was working on a new album that would feature the work of the late Malcolm Young. Then, earlier this year, American band Terrorizer confirmed that after bumping into Johnson at an airport, he told them that he would feature on the new album and that he was “sick of denying it.”
