Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Plans Expansion That Would Link It With Science Center

CLEVELAND — The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is seeking an expansion that would link the Cleveland institution to the nearby Great Lakes Science Center, according to the Associated Press.

The Rock Hall, which is located at the edge of Lake Erie in Cleveland is reportedly seeking a renewable lease on an acre of city-owned land that separates the two buildings.

According to The Plain Dealer, the rock museum would use the land for a roughly 50,000 square-foot expansion that could include room for exhibits, special events, education, object conservation and research, as well as a glass-enclosed connection along the waterfront promenade to link the Rock Hall to the Science Center.

The proposed expansion would be music to the ears of patrons of both the museum and science center as visitors parking in the Science Center’s garage during winter months are currently forced to brave a chilly walk between the two facilities.
