HOUSTON, TX (CelebrityAccess) — Houston rapper Bun B shot an armed intruder who police allege attempted to force his way into the performer’s home and rob him.

According to the Houston Chronicle, police have charged 20-year-old Demonte Jackson with two counts of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon and one count of burglary with intent to commit a felon in the wake of the incident.

Bun B, whose real name is Bernard Freeman, was at home with his wife who goes by Queenie Freeman, at the time of the attempted robbery, the Chronicle reported.

Freeman’s attorney Charles Adams told the Chronicle that Queenie Freeman opened the door for the alleged assailant, thinking it was an Amazon delivery person but instead, it was a masked Jackson, who forced his way into the home.

Bernard Freeman, who was upstairs at the time, armed himself and confronted the intruder, with the two men exchanging gunfire.

Jackson suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder and fled from the home but was pursued by Freeman, who forced him to remove the mask, police told the Chronicle.

Adams told the Chronicle that he does not believe the attack was targeted and local security cameras showed Jackson attempting to break into other homes in the area.

Bun B, who comprises one half of the rap duo UGK (UnderGround Kingz), has also released four solo albums, including last year’s Return of the Trill. He also performed during this year’s Super Bowl Halftime show.
