2nd Live Nation Shed Loses Verizon Name

PELHAM, Ala. (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Verizon Wireless Music Center is now called the Oak Mountain Amphitheatre after the venue's former naming rights sponsor Verizon declined to renew their 6-year sponsorship deal on the shed.

According to the Birmingham Business Journal, Live Nation remains optimistic about finding a new naming rights partner at the venue and noted that the company has put out feelers in the local business community.

The 10,500 capacity shed, located just a few miles south of Birmingham is the largest outdoor music venue in Alabama. Live Nation declined to offer specific figures on the cost of sponsorship at the venue.

The identically named Verizon Wireless Music Center in Indianapolis also recently underwent a similar naming transition and is now called the Klipsch Music Center. What this portends for other Live Nation venues with a Verizon name is unclear and at the time of publication, Live Nation representatives did not respond to a request for comment. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
