PORTLAND, OR. (CelebrityAccess) — The Rose Quarter and The Trailblazers announced that Adam Cook will join the organization to manage venue operations of the Rose Quarter, Moda Center and Veterans Memorial Coliseum, effective April 13th.
Cook joins the Rose Quarter from Northlands, the home of Rexall Place and the Edmonton EXPO Centre, located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, where he served since 2013 as Venue Director and General Manager. Rexall Place (18,500 capacity) is the home to the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers, WHL’s Edmonton Oil Kings and the National Lacrosse League’s Edmonton Rush. Rexall Place currently ranks as the 13th busiest arena in the world. With 522,000 square feet of event space, the Edmonton EXPO Centre is the second-largest convention center space in Canada.
Prior to his years in Canada, Cook held various senior management positions with Global Spectrum and Comcast Arena in Everett, Washington, dating back to 2006. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Environmental Studies from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.
Cook isn't the only exec at Rose Quarter with new duties and Chris Oxley, formerly Vice President and General Manager of the Rose Quarter, will become the organization’s Vice President of Business Development and Government Affairs.
Oxley is credited with numerous achievements in his 15-year career with the Trail Blazers, including $16 million in capital improvements to the Moda Center, Rose Quarter and the team’s Practice Facility; creation of the successful Dr. Jack’s; and the launch of new food, beverage and catering offerings with Levy Restaurants.
“We’ve achieved some important objectives with both of these moves,” said Chris McGowan, President & CEO of the Trail Blazers. “Chris takes on responsibilities that will be key to our ongoing growth and development as a sports and entertainment company. With the hiring of Adam, we get an experienced venue management executive accustomed to the demands of overseeing multiple facilities with a professional sports franchise and world-class events as the primary focus.” – Staff Writers
