NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — AEG Live has entered into a partnership with the Bensusan family to present shows at New York's new 700-capacity HighLine Ballroom. The Bensusans, who also own and operate New York’s Blue Note Jazz Club and the B.B. King Blues Blues Club & Grill, have been operating as independent promoters in New York for more than 25 years. An April 30 show featuring Lou Reed kicks off the partnership.
Located in New York’s meat packing district, the HighLine Ballroom provides open sightlines of the stage from every area within the club and features state-of-the-art PA, digital sound boards, lighting and the largest stage in the city for a club of comparable size. moe., Mos Def, Amy Winehouse, Jonatha Brooke, Spank Rock, Meshell Ndegeocello, Talib Kweli and Disco Biscuits are booked for its opening month. Toffer Christensen is HighLine's in-house talent buyer.
