ATLANTIC CITY (CelebrityAccess) — New Jersey's Casino Reinvestment Development Authority has signed a $1.9 million, multi-year deal with AEG Live that will see the promoter stage concerts at the city's Boardwalk Hall.
According to the Press of Atlantic City, the deal is similar to a $1 million, one-year agreement the CRDA struck with Live Nation.
Live Nation has already announced plans to stage a concert by Maroon 5 and Nick Jonas on the city's beachfront.
The two deals are part of Atlantic City's strategy its tourist offerings beyond casino gambling with the goal of becoming the "Entertainment Capital of the Jersey Shore."
“Historic Boardwalk Hall is a critical asset in our strategy to bring non gaming attractions to the city, and the positive results of our efforts to date are evident,” CRDA Executive Director John Palmieri said in a statement Tuesday. “The CRDA welcomes AEG to Atlantic City and we look forward to working together as we continue to diversify our destination.” – Staff Writers
