Aerosmith On The Run

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) – While Steven Tyler’s swagger and Joe Perry’s strumming paled in comparison to the frontman in the star-studded tribute to Sly Stone at this past week’s Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, it was the Aerosmith boys who wowed two audiences in one night.

After joining John Legend, Robert Randolph, Maroon 5, Joss Stone, Fantasia and Will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas in the uber-funky backing band for soul legend Sly Stone’s first return to the stage since the late 1980s, Tyler and Perry were whisked by police escort to a private jet at the Van Nuys airport.

From there, they made the 370-mile trip to Oakland, and hit the stage at the Coliseum at 10:00pm, to fulfill their obligations to their hugely successful “Rockin’ The Joint” tour with Lenny Kravitz.

According to a publicist, the group opened with The Beatles’ “Helter Skelter,” just after Paul McCartney performed the same number at the awards show.

Maintaining their reputation as one of the most dedicated bands in the business, Aerosmith continues their tour tonight in San Diego. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
