Courtney Proffitt has been named the new executive director of the Association For
Independent Music (AFIM). Proffitt, who assumes leadership on May 6, replaces
Jeanne Oberstar, who is resigning her position for personal reasons. She will remain
with AFIM through May 1. As a result of this change, AFIM offices will
move from Santa Monica, CA to Tempe, AZ, where Proffitt is based.
Proffitt spent 11 years with BMG Distribution, most recently as Southwest Regional
Sales Representative with BMG Distribution.
