AIF To Crack Down On Festival Theft Rings

LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Association of Independent Festivals, or AIF, has announced that its putting together a special security task force to cut down on thefts from campsites during outdoor music festivals.

A small number of organized criminal gangs is generally considered to be the source of many of these thefts, which target the tents of festival-goers who are away, enjoying the music. To combat this, the new task force will develop and share "intelligence" and coordinate with police and security teams at individual festivals in order to target the gangs involved in this nefarious behavior.

"Tent theft at our festivals has always been very low, but any theft at all is really upsetting for the promoter and the people involved." said AIF founder and B'estival organizer Rob DaBank "This was one of the main reasons I wanted to set up AIF and I really believe we can make a difference with this initiative."

The services of this special task force will be available to all festivas rather than to just AIF members. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
