Alex Kochan's Painting Honors 9/11

Agent cum artist Alex Kochan is having a public showing of one of his paintings for the first time in a specially curated group exhibition of pictures and sculptures
commemorating September 11. "Done in tribute to a courageous friend, I am grateful it is to be included in a group show commemorating 9/11," said Kochan.

Kochan's painting pays tribute to Tom K. of Squad 252 NYFD:

"He was a straight-backed all-American-boy dedicated to life, liberty and the pursuit of our safety. His easy smile broadcast an invitation to be his friend for a lifetime. Each time I saw him he had a new bruise on his face, arm or leg, and he carried a smoky aroma he could not wash away. He brushed off the danger of storming into blazes but he was not crazy — he was a dedicated soul who followed his calling into a world trade center forever."

The exhibit, curated by Mira Goland, will run September 11-30 at the Globe Institute of Technology (291 Broadway at Reade Street) in New York.
