Amazon Prime Music Adds Universal Music Group To Free Streaming

SEATTLE, WA (Hypebot) –
Despite having "several million" users in the U.S. streaming its 1 million tracks every month, Amazon Prime Music is often overlooked. Today Amazon's streaming catalog got a lot deeper with the addition of Universal Music Group.

Amazon today announced that Prime members in the U.S. and U.K. now have free streaming access to tracks from Universal Music Group.

Like Amazon's music streaming deals with other labels, Prime Music will feature very little current product, focusing instead on catalog. But since we're talking about the world's largest music group, that includes Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, Lana Del Rey, Maroon 5, Of Monsters and Men, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, Ellie Goulding, Drake, Lorde, Jessie J and Eminem, among others, and a wide selection of popular Jazz and Classical albums.

"We are pleased to make a selection of our catalog available on Prime Music,” said Francis Keeling, Universal Music Group’s Global Head of Digital Business. “With Amazon’s tremendous reach and consumer appeal, we are delighted to build on our relationship by making Universal Music’s world-class artists available to Amazon Prime members.”
