STOCKHOLM, Sweden (VIP NEWS) – The Swedish festival Dans Dakar have been cancelled. The festival should take place on 21-22 August and artists like Diplo, Robyn and Giorgio Moroder was booked. The cancellation is due to financial problems.
"This year has been full of problems difficulties, we have had various financial partners who have entered the festival but later on left the project," the organizers says in a press release and continues: "We have in recent days been in negotiations with several suppliers to cut the costs in an effort of trying to make the festival in a different scale. But unfortunately we now have to inform you that it will not happen, and that we become one in a series of independent festivals of recent years has gone to the grave " writes the festival management in a press release.
Purchased tickets are instead to be used at another festival Docklands that has a 20th anniversary, which takes place on 20-21 August. It is still unclear if artists from Dans Dakar will play at the Docklands Jubilee.
In the current situation it is unclear whether Dans Dakar will be able to refund the tickets that are not used instead at the Docklands, but the management promises information should be released shortly.
