ARTISTdirect Records has a new label, iMUSIC. It is billed as "pretty unconventional, and hopefully it will have artists wanting to Create rather than stress over how much money they owe their label. There are no big advances. We don't propose expensive promo campaigns for mainstream radio and television exposure, and we make sure that any monies spent on the project are made only with the full agreement of the artist. iMUSIC artists own their own masters, are offered a one-album deal, have total creative control over their project and split the profits 50-50. Pretty sweet."
Label signings include John Doe, Berlin, Gene, Tre' and Speech (formerly with Arrested Development).
