Attack At Hedley Concert Leaves One Dead

DAWSOM CREEK, BC (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Dawson Creek are investigating an violent assault that left one man dead at a concert by pop-rockers Hedley at the Encana Events Centre.

According to local news outlet The Province, the 28-year-old victim and a friend were at the bathroom at the venue when they were attacked by a trio of men. One of the two victims was transported to a hospital but subsequently died of his injuries while the other was treated for minor injuries and released. RCMP have three suspects in custody but have yet to ascertain a motive for the attacks.

"The two male victims did not want to fight," RCMP Const. Lesley Smith told the Province. "This was not a brawl, this was three suspects who assaulted two males."

"We believe alcohol was a factor," Smith added. "We have heard reports a beer was knocked over."

The show's promoter Live Nation issued a statement on the matter: "We offer our thoughts and prayers to the man's family and friends. We are working closely with the Encana Event Centre and local authorities." – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
