Auckland City Limits On Hiatus For 2017

AUCKLAND, NZ (CelebrityAccess) — After an apparently successful debut year, organizers announced that the Auckland City Limits festival will be taking a hiatus in 2017.

In a post on the fest's Facebook CRS Presents Campbell Smith said:

"The next edition of Auckland City Limits Music Festival will now take place in March 2018.

"Our intent is to stage a world class music festival in Auckland. The inaugural Auckland City Limits delivered on that promise with Kendrick Lamar, The National and more than 40 other artists. It was a brilliant event that we are proud of and want to expand upon in the future.

"We remain committed to bringing the best Auckland City Limits Music Festival experience possible to New Zealand. We will return in March 2018 with an equally strong Lineup and an intensified focus on providing festival-goers with an unforgettable day."

The festival's debut year was heralded by the local press as a success. While the festival did face some technical snafus and complaints about long lines for concessions, the lineup, which featured Kendrick Lamar, The National, Action Bronson, Broods, Ladyhawke, and Fat Freddy's Drop proved to be a draw and organizers reported that attendance 'exceeded expectations' when more than 25,000 turned out for the 1-day event. – Staff Writers
