LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The final concert of Babyshambles UK tour ended with angry concert-goers rushing the stage at the London Astoria on December 18.
The band was due to perform at midnight but after making the crowd wait for two hours it was announced that they would not play. According to NME.com 150-200 people jumped on stage in an attempt to destroy Babyshambles’ equipment.
One eyewitness described the scene. “The curtains were torn down, drinks were thrown, the drum kit was smashed and essentially the entire contents of the stage were destroyed.”
Earlier in the week lead singer Pete Doherty had to be dragged off stage after he forgot the words to songs and performed poorly. During a solo tour this summer Doherty did not appear for a number of shows, one of which resulted in a riot as well.
A spokesperson for the police said the police were called in at about 2:30am but there were no arrests made. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
