ALLENTOWN, PA (CelebrityAccess) — The operator of an Allentown nightclub has been taken to court by the property owners who allege that they haven't been paid rent in more than a year.
According to Lehigh Valley Live, property owners Airport Road Co-Investor, known as ARCI, and HGF Allentown claim that club operator Anthony DeLeon and Gemini LLC owe more than $175,000 in back rent.
However, DeLeon claims that the rent is too high and far above what similar businesses in the area pay according to a survey conducted by DeLeon's attorney.
"We tried to get them to see it's not fair. … It's impossible to make it at that location with that rent," DeLeon told Lehigh Valley Live. "At this point I'm just trying to stay as long as I can."
DeLeon says he pays $12,500 a month, which includes $9,000 in rent plus arrears since he filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy in 2012.
Upcoming shows at Bahama Mama's include a June 20 date with Omarion.
