OMAHA (CelebrityAccess) — An Omaha-based auto dealer chain has secured the rights to the new, yet-under-construction arena at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
According to ABC affiliate KETV, Baxter Auto is paying $4 million over 10 years for the deal, which will see the 7,500-seat venue named Baxter Arena.
The arena will be the home school's Mavericks' hockey, basketball and volleyball teams.
At a ceremony announcing the deal, Baxter Auto president Mickey Anderson noted that his father attended the school starting in 1957.
“Baxter Auto, and particularly the Anderson family, have been outstanding corporate citizens in Omaha and great supporters of UNO Athletics for decades,” Alberts said. “We are grateful to partner with an iconic Omaha company.”
Baxter Auto operates 21 dealerships in Omaha, Lincoln and Kansas City. – Staff Writers
