Beauty & The Beast A Money-Maker For Disney

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — After a record-breaking debut last weekend, Disney's live action remake Beauty & The Beast continued its strong box office run, adding an eye-popping $207.5 million this weekend to push its global total to $690.3 million, according to estimates by comScore.

The weekend's box office take puts the film squarely in the #1 spot for the year, both domestically and internationally. As well, it's the fourth consecutive Disney film to break $600 million mark globally, following 'Doctor Strange,' 'Moana' and 'Rogue One.'"

Warner Bros. Kong: Skull Island held on to the #2 spot globally, adding an estimated additional $107 million internationally and just $14.4M domestically over the weekend. Kong slid to third place domestically, losing ground to Lionsgate Film's young adult action film "Power Rangers," which mined '90s nostalgia in reviving the Japanese super hero adventure.

Power Rangers, which debuted over the weekend, earned an estimated $59.2M internationally, and $40.5M domestically, according to comScore.
