Berlin Gears Up For Music Week

BERLIN (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) —

Berlin is preparing for the biggest music event of the year.

The first ever Berlin Music Week will kick off on September 6th and last until the 12th.

Berlin Music Week will blend a shared music experience, market place and congress. With support from the Berlin Senate, the music industry is consolidating its efforts under one roof, catering to the needs of both music lovers and industry representatives. Tickets are currently on sale as the program continues to evolve.

The all2gethernow Congress; the Berlin Festival, which will feature 70 bands across three stages; the two sector networks Berlin Music Commission and Clubcommission Berlin; and the international business platform Popkomm are presenting themselves under the umbrella brand.

The city will become a stage for tomorrow's trends from all genres, occupied by a multitude of live and club events, as well as sector-specific festivals organized in cooperation with further partners.

One of the central sites of the Berlin Music Week is the former Tempelhof Airport, internationally recognized as a symbol of Berlin's freedom. This airport will serve as the venue for Popkomm, the international market place for music and entertainment.

Popkomm will offer music fans a program with an international slant. Partnerships have been developed with three international showcase events, Swedish festival 'Almost Famous,' the UK's 'The Great Escape,' and Spain's 'Primavera Sound.'

The Berlin Festival, Berlin's biggest festival for indie and electronic music, has a growing line up featuring the Editors, Adam Green, Fever Ray, LCD Soundsystem, Boys Noize, Atari Teenage Riot, Robyn and Hot Chip. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
