Billboard Teams With Last.fm

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Billboard has teamed up with Last.fm to provide audio tracks for Billboard's online version of its All-Time Hot 100 chart.

"The 'Last.fm in a Box' application is a natural complement to the array of music news, charts, features and videos that we offer consumers on Billboard.com, and is the perfect way to continue the Billboard Hot 100 50th Anniversary Celebration," Josh Engroff, Billboard's digital VP, wrote in a statement.

To make it all work, Billboard will use Last.fm's "Last.fm in a Box" tool and the playlist will feature all of the artists included on the special All-Time Hot 100 chart which Billboard compiled to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the first appearance of the chart.

Owned by CBS, the ad-driven Last.fm has deals with major and indie labels and has access to more than 7 million tracks. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
