Blues Lifetime Achievement Awards Postponed

The Blues Foundation has postponed its October 22 awards show at the LA House of Blues until fall 2002. Singer/guitarist Buddy Guy and Sun Records founder Sam Phillips will receive their lifetime achievement awards then.

Howard Stovall, the foundation's executive director, said he would rather present a top-level show next year "than present something that does not include the people most appropriate to pay tribute to the enormous influence both these men have left on American music."
