Bomb Scare Delays Concert At Artpark

LEWISTON, NY (CelebrityAccess) — Artpark has re-opened, albeit under tight security after a concert on Tuesday night was halted following a bomb scare.

According to The Buffalo News, the venue was evacuated on Tuesday after two bomb-sniffing dogs alerted during a regular sweep of the venue's main outdoor stage before a concert by Randy Bachman and show opener 54-40.

Investigators from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and personnel from other law enforcement agencies were summoned to the venue and conducted a thorough search, including employing X-ray equipment and disassembling some speakers before determining that the area was safe, the Buffalo News reported.

Concertgoers were held outside of the venue while the search was conducted and later offered complimentary general admission tickets to either the June 27 or July 11 shows at Artpark, based on availability.

Bachman and 54-40 both went on to play full sets with the city of Lewiston temporarily lifting noise curfew restrictions to enable to show to run late. – Staff Writers
