Boosie Badazz Concert Cancelled Following Shooting

DINWIDDIE, VA. (CelerbiyAccess) — An April 1st concert by rapper Boosie Badazz was canceled shortly before it was set to start after shots were fired inside of the venue.

According to local CBS affiliate WTVR, officials estimate there were 10,000 to 12,000 people in attendance at Virginia Motorsports Park for the all-day Spring Fest event that included a motorcycle show and concert.

Major William Knott from the Dinwiddie Sheriff’s Office told WTVR that the gunfire occurred at approximately 8 PM. Two women were taken to the hospital and treated for reported minor injuries and later released. It was unclear if the injuries were as a result of gunfire.

"We do know there were multiple gunshots fired in different places in the park,” Major Knott told WTVR. "There was also at least two vehicles hit by gunfire in the park.”

No arrests have been made in the incident.

Following the shooting, Boosie took to social media to express his dismay. In a video posted to Instagram, he explained the cancellation in his own way and expressed his frustration after he overheard fans at the hotel expressing concern for their safety at his concerts. – Staff Writers
