(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Industry veteran Brian Kabatznick has joined SMG as vice president of business development, where he will oversee the company’s expansion into new markets for facility privatization, including stadia, arenas, convention centers and performing arts centers.
“Brian’s years of industry experience and relationships make him a perfect candidate to help continue to grow SMG,” SMG president Wes Westley said.
“I am excited to be working with Mr. Westley and the SMG team, many of whom I have interacted with during my 25-year career within the ticketing and theatrical production industry," Kabatznick said. "I’m also looking forward to expanding upon SMG’s market-leading position and seeking opportunities to provide quality management services throughout the USA.”
Kabatznick previously served as Ticketmaster’s executive vice president for Europe, Africa and the Middle East, in addition to executive vice president and director of international business development.
More recently, he established the Black Ensemble Touring Company, a joint venture with Chicago’s Black Ensemble Theater Corporation and produced the award-winning show, the ‘Jackie Wilson Story’ in nine cities, including an extended run at New York’s Apollo Theater. — Jane Cohen and Bob Grossweiner
